WCF horses partnering with Poudre Wilderness Volunteers and Wildland Restoration Volunteers in the Rawah Wilderness
Horses play an important role in achieving our mission. We see each of the horses on our team as an individual with unique personalities and talents.
Rocky is our powerhouse! He can drag logs, go for miles, and is the one to give confidence to our new horses on the team. This boy loves his job!
Whip is our perfect gentleman. He navigates trails like a champ and is one of our favorites to bring out on survey days.
Raven is the newest addition to the WCF horse team. He has proven to be an exceptional pack horse, traversing trails like an old pro.
Our team of mules, Annie and Jasmine are rockstars on the trail. These girls can go anywhere and pack anything. Together they are unstoppable!
Our one blue-eyed wonder horse! Rip is one of the younger horses on our team, but also a sweetheart. He's learning his job and doing great.
Jasper loves being on the trail with his rider. Formerly a rope horse, Jasper has enjoyed his new life exploring the wilderness. Jasper not only rides, but also packs!
Cash is Jasper's main traveling buddy on trail. Often times, they work together. Cash is a steady and friendly horse, and always loves some extra pets and attention from other trail users.
Little Grey is one of our newest teammates at WCF. He is currently in training and learning all about being calm on trails and learning how to pack. He will be joining the rest of the herd in spring 2024.
Grey is our old trusty. He is a " been there, done that" kinda horse. He is the perfect horse for our volunteers who may lack some experience because of his experience. From navigating trails to moving logs, he will get the job done with ease.
Jake is one of the WCF pack horse pros. He is one of the go-to horses that will pack just about anything, no matter how odd the shape or size.
Joe is a seasoned trail horse that is always ready to go to work. He enjoys his job and is partnered with Jake.
